Anonymity Rulings
The Panel has received in excess of 140 applications for anonymity and has issued individual rulings in respect of over 100 of them. Each applicant (or, in the vast majority of cases, their representative) who has received an individual ruling has also been provided with a copy of the Panel's Generic Ruling and copies of that have also been provided to the Full Participants to the Inquiry. The Generic Ruling has been added to the Inquiry's Current Key Documents....

Welcome to the Rosemary Nelson Inquiry website

This is the website for the independent public inquiry into the murder in 1999 of Rosemary Nelson, a solicitor from Lurgan in Northern Ireland. The Inquiry was announced by the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, the Rt Hon Paul Murphy MP, on 16 November 2004.


Terms of Reference

“ To inquire into the death of Rosemary Nelson with a view to determining whether any wrongful act or omission by or within the Royal Ulster Constabulary, Northern Ireland Office, Army or other state agency facilitated her death or obstructed the investigation of it, or whether attempts were made to do so; whether any such act or omission was intentional or negligent; whether the investigation of her death was carried out with due diligence; and to make recommendations.”
